Candidate,
Need to be specific on their plan. for example......water line....how/when will this be accomplished? where is the source of funding?..specific........specific,specific....."urungulek" kind of talk doesnt work anymore.
thank you

I said to be specific......because general population are tired of sweet talk. Here are some of them, akmo osiik, akmo ungil mesiou, akmo ungil loderuchel, urungulek, akumdasue elmo mengetmokel, akmo meringel losiik...all these phrases does not work anymore....I'l give you what you need to do to win this election. for example...if you promise to deliver watermelons to the public....do not say you will work hard to find watermelons....instead, say and mean what you say.....that you have a pick up truck fueled and ready to depart at exactly 800am tommorrow morning to Aimeliik farm to pick up the watermelons and bring them to you by or before 1000am. I have these axact amount of fund that I have secured and ready to buy the melons tommorrow....ACTION SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORD.....I say all these because I am your supporter and I feel the pulse on the street.....they are so tire of "PROMISES", so do not go out campaigning with promises as they will certainly brand you as "one of the bunches. You have my vote...

Hello everyone,

You folks don't know how excited i am to be here. I have been working on a bunch of projects here in the United States and my dream is to come to palau someday and implement some of these projects in ngaraard.

This website is great but i can create a much better one for all of us ngaraardians. Give me a couple of months and i will get it running in no time at all.

i want to make sure the ground work and the infrastructure will be built just right. once the website is online, i want to use it to launch a bunch of projects to palauans but they must come to the "new Ngaraard website" to find out about them. But, you folks willbe the first ones to know and participate in these projects.

I feel that ngaraardians should be leading the pack, they should be introducing new ideas, projects to palauans in this new millenum. I feel that Ngaraardians should be proactive. Waiting to have someone do something for you and me is not the option.

Instead, ngaraardians should go out there and create. That's what i want to do, i want to help you as a ngaraardian to create your own destiny.

Again, keep this site going because i willbe using it to communicate with all of you.

I love you all.

This website is definitely the next step as to informing those that are outside Palau of the importance of their individual voices in the development of their mother country. Good job Kern and my prayers and blessings are with your dad! Good luck with everything and do let me know if I can be of any help to getting him elected as I believe that he is the best man for the job. As the other comment said, "VIVA GK!" God bless! And no worries, I'm campaigning hard for him too!

Greetings Delegate Kanai,

I was searching the web for an updated email address but found this website. It's wonderful news to hear of your position on House Joint Resolution 8-5-1S, demanding a comprehensive energy plan.

It's about time we start exploring alternative sources, especially solar-based sources of energies. I want to help provide ideas and sources of innovation Belau can turn to to provide greener energy sources for us.

Can you please keep me updated on the development of this Resolution? It should be an easy one to pass but if Belau is like the USA, you should expect resistance from the oil and gasoline traders. Please let us know if we can be useful in terms of providing our own testimonies if they are necessary to build and or sustain political will.

Mesulang,
Richard Salvador

PALAU HOUSE DEMANDS COMPREHENSIVE ENERGY PLAN
Resolution urges president to implement strategy

By Bernadette H. Carreon

KOROR, Palau (Palau Horizon, June 22, 2009) – A House of Delegate (HOD) joint resolution was passed on Monday urging President Johnson Toribiong to implement a comprehensive and effective energy plan for Palau.

House Joint Resolution 8-5-1S was first introduced by seven members of the HOD in March.

The resolution urges President Toribiong to prioritize the energy plan.

When the delegates where entertaining the resolution, Palau was already faced with frequent power outages on a daily basis.

At that time government offices and private businesses were on a power schedule caused by faulty generators that needed major mechanical repairs.

The delegates in its resolution said that there is a need for the major overhaul of the existing power system of Palau.

It added that old and faulty generators should be replaced with new ones, because they have become very costly to maintain.

The delegates believe "that a more effective energy plan is urgently needed, one that looks beyond conventional energy generation by burning of fossil fuels which contributes to global warming with its toxic carbon emissions into the atmosphere. We need a plan that also embraces use of greener alternatives by exploring renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and ocean currents and temperatures."

These areas of energy generation can provide for an energy plan that is more sustainable for Palau and help to assure the health and well-being of our citizens as well as to secure the economic status of Palau.

The resolution was introduced by Delegates Lentcer Basilius, Horace Rafael, Swenny Ongidobel, Secilil Eldebechel, Tmewang Rengulbai, Wayne Andrew and HOD Floor Leader Gibson Kanai.

Hey Rich, Its great to know someone out there shares the same concern. I think it should be every ones preference to seek sustainable type of energy with minimal negative impact to our environment. I am sorry for not responding any sooner but I just got back from CNMI for 26th Pacific Island Environment Conference co-hosted by American Samoa and CNMI. It sure was an eye opening. Anyway, it would be more helpful if you can share your knowledge in regards to energy measures the OEK faces. I thank you and would like to invite any comments/concerns on any issues concerning our developing Island Nation. Such resolution has been adopted by both houses and trasmitted to President on June 17, 2009
